Standard garage doors are the least expensive way to enclose a space. They're spit out by the thousands and are easily customizable to fit. I know nothing about bifold gates, but they'll be a specialty, made to fit option that will probably be more expensive.

As man. The only thing is I don’t have the overhead space for a standard garage door. And if I did put a garage door, I think I’d have to get a permit and then close off my sliding glass door and replace it with a wall or self closing door. Then I’d also have to portion off the car side of the carport by building a wall because the front entryway is in the carport space.

You should talk to the local garage door companies and see what they suggest. They surely have seen it all.

The lovely one in your first picture is probably a custom $$$ job.

Talked to local garage door companies and would have to basically create a new supporting beam that is closer to the opening of the carport. All have said that installing a garage door would be pretty costly.
