lower the wall mounted TV to adjust to room size, see attachment.

I would get a round dining table, more pleasing with the linear bar counter in the kitchen.

generally, remove all the little decor items. think when everything is 'special' nothing is special.

I would also spin the sectional to face the window and TV. with a sofa table behind the sofa for decor.

Thanks Lyn! I agree tv needs to come down, and ALL those items need to go asap!! I just want someone to show me what to put instead. As much as I would love a round dining table the space would not allow it as well as the rotation of sectional. Great ideas though!

You have a nice space! Maybe just replace your rug with one that has either some brighter colors and textures. One piece of artwork above the dining table instead of multiple pieces and a few interesting throw pillows to break up the monochromatic ones? Small, simple changes.

A plant or two and a table runner....

Select a linear light fixture for over the table.

That wall doesn't need small wall decor but something that makes a statement like mutiple framed art items.

I would not have a banquette or benches for seating.

Select a low media cabinet for storage. You can even assemble something unique using IKEA Besta parts.

Oh that’s nice!!!!.. I thought the banquette would work since the dining set has to be close to the wall due to limited space. Reg seating would still work?

Nothing wrong with banquette seating but the banquette should be as long or longer than the dining table to work correctly.

Some retailers supply banquettes in modular pieces so you can build the length required.

Ahh! That makes sense. Thank you!

Would it look silly with my space? Given it’s a shared wall with my “living space?” Not sure how to end it.

Yes NOTHING wrong with a banquette and with your limited space I would say is an optimal choice. Stick with the rectangle table--seats the most and utilizes seating the best on the banquette. Anything else would force you to lose the counter seating due to lack of sq. footage. As well as being too short yours looks very formal given the amount of upholstery. I would be sure what ever you choose for the seat portion is easy to slide on. Fabric makes it much more difficult to get into and out of a banquette. What is the copper tube that protrudes between the living and dining space if I may ask?

I really appreciate all the visuals! any feedback for the living area?

Thank you arcy_gw for your input as well. There’s so many choices out there I get so overwhelmed! .. the copper tube is my pendant light above my peninsula in my kitchen lol.

@arcy_gw the copper tube is an illusion of the pendant light over the island. I wondered the same thing until I saw the last photo in the posting. Kind of a metaphor, it all depends on your perspective, lol.

@SP215 I'm amused by what you consider a "mess." I only wish my house was that tidy when kids were there.

We can't see the whole living room, just the window. More photos please of the walls in there...and further back.

But the drapes are so bland. get something with color. And open them all the way to the sides, the 4 panels aren't working so treat them as two panels.

Ok treated as two—noted. Here’s some more pictures living room is about 13 (from back of couch) x 12 for reference.

@tozmo1 lol! I feel like I am always cleaning!

I also wondered about the copper tube so thanks for explaining. What threw me is size but I see that pic was zoomed in so the one showing looks huge. Nice lights. If you get a new linear dining light as @BeverlyFLADeziner suggests, it’d be nice to have some copper element in it. If you get a new longer banquette, how about one with no ’wings’ as current one has. I think it’d look more open & easier to slide onto. And, move the table a bit so it’s more centered under light - a linear light will help with that. Looks like the bench is pushed under table as far as it can be but it looks like you can steal a bit of aisle space there. . Agree new larger art, fewer pieces would be good on dining wall. On living area, @tracefloyd idea of drapes as 2 panels not 4 is great — looks so much better. Please line them up with outside end of pole & inside of window casement they are next to. Just a small detail but….Those teal pillows are distracting me - how about blues to match dining chairs & with some interesting patterns for more texture?

Wow in real time, thanks...more open feeling that way right?

I like the pillows. Get drapes in that gorgeous Teal color in silk or similar sheen. Then place a teal flower vase somewhere nearby. Really will make a difference and just may be all you need in here.

Well, okay - maybe the teal pillows on sofa will be good with more teal color added to room to connect. Teal & Navy are frequent combos

Oops, that's right.... the rest of the space is planned to be blue. So blue drapes then. Ditch the Teal. My bad.

Hey @tracefloyd - make up your mind! 😁 So, @SP215 - your call add some teal color accents to the kitchen & dining area to tie in with teal pillows & new curtains in LR, or, add navy blue to kitchen, new drapes & textured pillows to tie in with dining chairs. Bright teal & navy is a combo many use. Then, when you have that figured out, get that new large art for over dining area - with teal & navy or with - well, you got the picture!

ETA forgot about @BeverlyFLADeziner suggestion for a new dining light - linear shape!

    Thanks for the feedback!

The dining chairs are a deep teal although do look navy in the picture. Maybe I can add more deep teals in living room??

Do you think black and white family photos in a thin copper frame would be ok over dining room table?

My dining table is 6ft long, how large should the linear light be?

Yes, the table is pushed in a bit mainly to prevent my dog from sleeping on the banquette seating.

    Thanks for the awesome input!

@SP215 Yes, the dining chairs do look navy! They must be closer to color of candles on your coffee table. I’d add more teal to both rooms with the touches @tracefloyd suggested — drapery panels etc. About the pics - copper frame would look great but IMO what would look best is one large piece - balances out the TV & better scale for table. Family photos really need a location where one can stop & view each one up close & a gallery display has more impact than photos scattered around. So, a console table display with different frame types & sizes or a hallway or stairway wall gallery arrangement.. About the linear light - there are guides out there but couldn’t find one for linear light over rectangle shape table. But my guess is 1/3 to 1/2 length of table. I’m sure someone will jump in here with necessary corrections. Be sure to consider your LR light when choosing the new dining light. If you know source of LR light maybe you can find a linear one in matching collection.

@SP215 😍 Love this image: Yes, the table is pushed in a bit mainly to prevent my dog from sleeping on the banquette seating.
