Hi, Melanie! I would place a low rectangular planter between the two chairs with ferns. Maybe add a rug leading up to the door (like a 4x6 or 5x7). Not sure about the other items...maybe a couple of taller lanterns near the door.

IMO get the landscping done then come back for help with the porch. From what I see of the house anything cute will not work.To me those chirs look like something for a screened in porch on a traditional home . What do you actully plan to use the prrch for ? A coffee in the morning a glass of wine in the evening what exactly. Can you take a pic of the house from further back shoing the whole front yard. Maybe just some nice plants and no seating it is hard to tell with really no info. Post the new pics here in a comment DO NOT start another post and also some clue as to the interior style is helpful

What if you put a high back garden bench on the far left rail facing the steps...it would help enclose the space.

Then add an outdoor rug, chair pads, and glazed pots in your favorite color. Hang flowering baskets from the eaves. Oops add your lanterns too.

It's a nice space, but it is small. I agree with Patricia about doing the landscaping first.

Personally I wouldn't want crowd the space with planters.

Keep it simple and uncluttered, a zen place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

How big is the space? Looks small to me too. And I agree with the ”cute” comment. This looks like a fine, expensive home. Cute is out of place here.
