I think you'll be disappointed with pocket hole screws and glue. The glue isn't going to hold end grain to side grain, and that joint may, at times, get very stressed. I'd look for furniture connectors, maybe something you could take apart to move someday. I'm thinking of a cam lock with holes in the supports like some Ikea units are assembled with, but larger.

There's options for securing legs but some might alter present Danish style if that's important. Simplest is 1" square strips glued and fastened with screws to both top and legs. Long screws going through top and into legs. Before installing screws, drill holes large enough to countersink heads below top surface and recieve dowel plugs,pilot holes in center of screw head holes and into legs. 2 parallel 1x2s evenly spaced on edge from inside one leg to inside other. Pocket holes inside 1x2s to top and screws through legs into end of 1x2s. Triangular pieces set against legs and top secured by through screws and pocket holes. Stability will be increased immensely by stringers between legs and/or aprons but those change style.
