What would you like to use the area for? It doesn’t seem unsightly to me. Maybe just a little superfluous.

I would like to use the area next to the retaining wall for some type of planting. It gets great sun. I also do not care for the gravel flooring. Maybe some type of pavers and gravel? Not sure that would work under the screened in porch.

The paver idea sounds nice. We had the same situation under a deck once. My husband installed corrugated galvanized steel roofing under the deck floor boards so we could sit out when it was raining. It might be a nice spot for a hot tub. You might attach some kind of trellis to the retaining wall and grow some kind of climber in your sunny space. You could install party string lights to the steel.

I love the idea of a trellis. That would be a pretty back drop. I’m not sure about the hot tub but im going to explore the pavers and steel roofing. Thank you!
