Do you want the accent wall to be the focus? Typically the fireplace wall is. Can you post photos with your furniture?

(I would remove the wood piece above the stone fireplace, and prob paint over that window trim and baseboard molding, and. remove the gold insert and paint it a matte black. all of that is really a dated look)

if it was mine, I'd do a heavy mortar wash on the stone to make it look more like this. (I'm not in to the 70's lava rock)

or you could try something like this. remove the insert, do a nice mantle

IMO accent walls always need to be decided after all other elemnts are in place and always need to connect to something in the space . In this space IMO the FP is the focus wall

Don't bother with this at present. Move in, see how your furniture appears in the room and then get back to us. EVERYTHING will change when you move into the house.

We might suggest waiting on doing anything until you've lived in your home for about 6 months. You might notice, the fireplace, is currently the focal point, and you don't usually want to have two focal points in the same space. They can compete with one another.
