i suggest to remove some cabinetry. after all, what do we store in laundry rooms other than soap and maybe clothes pins? anything else likely should be stored elsewhere. keep a good, deep utility sink.

Please show a measured floor plan and photos of all four walls. This is a nice space with good natural light. Are you open to replacing the large drying rack with a wall or ceiling mounted built-in rack?

I would remove the cabinet next to the sink... then replace the countertop.

Are you talking about the door to the room? Can you put in a pocket door or change the door to swing out?

A possibility is to leave the washer and dryer where they are and remove the two lower and upper cabinets by the sink. Keep the sink where it is but reorient it to be on the same wall as the appliances and keep floor space open in front of it. You could hang another upper above the sink and mount a rod between it and the closet cabinets. Here's a photo, just imagine the sink on the other side of the appliances and without the basket shelves which would cut off access to the sink.

Much better layout and work space. Yes you will have to move plumbing and drainage. But you'll enjoy being in this space a lot more
