Which backsplash with calacatta miraggio gold quartz countertop

UPDATED: Counters were installed today and both options will go very nicely. Looks like Portmore White is in the lead, but added photos to the voting options in the event anyone else wants to chime in. Honestly, I'm leaning that way anyway due to the easier maintenance with ceramic tile as opposed to having to seal the marble every few years. Thanks to all who have voted!

Counters are being installed on the 17th and I'd like to get started on the backsplash right after. Since i have to order the tile online I want to order soon to allow time for shipping. Both samples look good with the sample countertop but unfortunately I don't have a sample at home. I was pretty confident I was going to go with the Portmore white subway tiles but now that I see it in my room I'm thinking it may be too big and somewhat boring. The other option I like is the Jade white herringbone. I'm thinking that may add a little more interest. I will be using bright white grout with a white schluter jolly strip for the edge on whichever tile I decide on.
My countertop will be MSI Calacatta Miraggio Gold. Stock photo is below. The kitchen is small (about 10 x 10) and my style is transitional. I want something that isn't going to be dated in a few years.

I would wait until your countertop is installed before you decide. Is that your intended wall color? Both choices look too stark to me next to the wall. The movement inherent to herringbone may fight with the pattern in the floor. We lived with a bare wall for 6 months after the kitchen was done while we found a suitable tile and then waited for the installer to be free.

I would wait till the counters are in. I would definitely not make my decision based on seeing the tile next to the counter sample in the showroom. Act in haste, repent at leisure!

We built and it took me 5 months to find the right tile after we moved in. My builder had no problem sending the tile guy to finish the job. Each room was priced separately for the whole house tile installation quote.

The tan to the left is the new wall color. It's the same as the living room dining room and hallways which were just painted two years ago. No plans to change the paint color in the near future.

The original plan was to wait until the counter was installed to make the final decision but they aren't installing the outlets until after the backsplash is installed so I didn't want to waste too much time deciding. Guess I'm just getting impatient. I want my kitchen back...lol!

Why can't they install outlets now on a temporary basis? Sure, they'll have to return to move them out to accommodate the thickness of the backsplash but IMO that's worth it to get your kitchen functioning again.

My contractor is my brother-in-law and I'm sure he would do it if I asked. I just hate to ask him to do extra since I'm getting the family rate. Also, he's usually booked a year and a half out so I'm afraid I'll mess his schedule up if I wait too long. I guess if I want it right though I need to take my time.
