I need help redesigning our small galley laundry room. This 7x10 ft room is between the garage and the kitchen, and serves as pantry, laundry room, cat bathroom, and broom closet. It currently has a floor-to-ceiling enclosed pantry, with deep shelves that I hate. The stacked washer/dryer are next to the pantry, and a folding table acts as a counter. The litter box is under the table, and there is a small upper cabinet above it, holding laundry detergent etc. The vacuum is on in the middle of the long wall, against the wall, not quite out of the way.

There is a window behind the W/D and the water/gas lines are also below the table.

As it stands this room is not doing a good job at any of its functions. I would like to redesign it to improve on all three: pantry, laundry, cats, with the following specifics:

Pantry: Make more accessible (shallower shelves)

Laundry: More upper cabinets for additional storage

Lower cabinets (one for cat litter, one for dirty clothes) + drawers, with countertop to fold/sort clothes

Rod for hanging a few items (can be stored when not in use)

Slim storage for broom/vacuum would be great

We are open to removing the enclosed pantry and moving things around. It would make more sense to have the pantry on the other end, since that is closer to the kitchen. But not necessary if it doesn't improve the functionality of the whole.

We could also close off the window. We'd move the water/gas lines if necessary, although would prefer not to.

I realize this is small and there's only so much that can be fixed. So given this size and layout, what would you do to make it more functional?
