is that tile 4 x 12?

maybe they have a bullnose in 4 x 12, that would line up with the other tile that would give you a finished edge.

@Karenseb It is 3 x 12. I would love that option most, but unfortunately this brand doesn't carry a matching bullnose in the same size. I'm trying to scramble to find another brand that has one, but I haven't found anything so far.

There have to be a zillion white subway tiles. Some will have an option for either bull nose or pencil edge. Frankly? Your preferred vertical install and the other elements are BEST suited to a clean crisp schluter edge. Next best is pencil

The time to think about the edge is WHEN you choose the tile.

Schluter in the color of your grout.

IMO stainless schluter but it needs to be done before tile install and honestly that is the right choice with those tiles I do however find the choices a bit mixed up the tile very modern the cabinet no so much and the brass style and color of the fixtures too traditional. The Schluter really is almost invisible but I never use white.

My daughter used three hour tour by Crossville in a 4X8 in the tub surround with a 4X12 bullnose.

It is a creamy off white. She stacked the 4X8 horizontally in a tub/shower with a 4X12 bullnose on the edges. It is really pretty.

I don't have a picture, but might be able to get one tomorrow.

Do the pencil

Of these two choices I guess the pencil but I would absolutely use schluter. Even slightly off color it fades into the background. Or I like Patricia’s idea of doing metallic to match your fixtures.

Between the 2 I’d prefer bullnose.

Bullnose would be my choice. It provides the most attractive finished edge. (Pencil is for visual interest, not edging. It goes between field tile and bullnose—or between field, one run of field, and bullnose.)

Bullnose is generally my aesthetic preference, but there are certainly times when Schluter edging is most practical. IMO (for whatever the opinion of a total stranger is worth to you), for this application, I agree with you that Schluter edging looks cheap.

I have pics of my baths showing both pencil as visual interest and bullnose as finished edge. But my tile choices were not monochrome, so I don't know if that would help you here. Let me know if you'd like me to post the pix.

since you cannot find matching end tile pieces, must definitely pencil. it is not typically seen in the US, but a standard in italy where i have my second home. i did not know what to expect but now i can tell you i love the look - it is a very clean minimalist look.

Don't line up the liner or bullnose with the tile. I have used really good tile guys over the years and I've never seen it lined up ... shift them half a tile and show us another photo.
