Thank you all for the input! I’m going back to the tile store tomorrow and looking again. While definitely check out white zellige. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to wait for backsplash and have to pick something now while I’m picking out everything at once, which makes it harder I think.

Can you bring the quartzite up the wall. That would create a streamlined look. Depending on your kitchen and the layout it might work.

Slab yards can make up their own names to make shopping comparisons more difficult.

Looks like some type of Taj Mahal or Madre Perola or Perla Venata, so you can google those names, or search the forums, to get more backsplash tile ideas.

I have to disagree with the usual direction in the forums to go with a simple subway backsplash with this type of stone. Once installed horizontally, it will just read boring beige from across the room!

Here are some example of more "daring" backsplash choices with this type of quartzite. It might not be someone else's taste, but that doesn't mean that these designs don't work.

I actually used the last tile with my Taj Mahal quartzite, but used one of the other patterns they offer. I also have wood beams and wood floors and the brown marble mosaic pieces tie it all in. The white marble was also a good match to my BM Chantilly Lace cabinets.

^ agree with Chispa that the tile doesn't have to be boring but many of us non-pros struggle 😅

I think 9 times out of 10 a more dramatic tile doesn't work with a busier counter - with the rare exception of when it does and it's fantastic -- but I would say that usually that happens when someone has a talented eye (like chispa) or has good help from a designer. (this is all from someone who could not deal with tile and did a slab BS lol)

Chispa, loving your choice!! I went back and chose a boring subway tile lol and now you’re making me want to look again.

IMO see if you can find a glass tile in a color from the slab I would never mix anotehr stone with that. If you find a glass that works then make sure the grout matches so you get as s imple as possible
