It grew out of potting soil I used for another plant. Right now it's about 12 inches tall and has 3 - 4 inch, lanceolate leaves with an arrowhead-shaped purplish spot in the center of some leaves. The stem has small nettle-like thorns. It also is developing a flower raceme with what looks like they're going to be white flowers.
