First blooms on 7/18 in 5a

Had a gorgeous day today…sunny, 78 and good air quality. Did a few garden chores today. The ground is still wet from all the rain last week. A few more daylilies had first blooms today.

Lovely Miss Lausious had a great first bloom. I’m just realizing I have alot of daylilies similar to this…..this one is the tallest.

Mighty Chestnut is in a less than ideal spot, not very prolific. The color is actually more russet than it appears, hard to photograph.

Sea Dragon….not the best first bloom. This one has quite a few buds…..too bad its down in the foliage this year.

Late afternoon photo of Reindeer Antlers. This is colorfast here and substance is really good all day.

Robes for the Queen X Black Falcon Ritual……doing well.

Chance Encounter X Never Been Kissed……a great performer here always, has been among the bud queens and will most likely be again this season.

What a gorgeous photo of Zuzu's Treasure! It's my favorite of your photos today. It's so funny how Chance Encounter X Never Been Kissed performs so well for you. I moved it last fall, and it only had 7-8 buds per scape for me this season. I guess it just loves your garden. How does the Robes for the Queen seedling do on buds for you? The trio of Reindeer Antlers looks good, and I always like Lovely Miss Laucius.

Good to have that wet ground, but here it came late. We needed that rain in early June, when plants were just starting scaping. Cruel nature! Lovely Miss Laucius looks quite tall.

Zuzu's Treasure is lovely! I like I have a weakness for the look of Lovely Miss Lausious, and like you, have several similar already. I MUST stop that! Reindeer Antlers looks good, mine had fewer scapes and buds than normal, just finished blooming.

It was 95 here yesterday with a heat index of 111. Your day sounds perfect! Today we are under a critical heat stress.

Lovely Miss Laucius is so pretty. Reindeer Antlers is very sunfast even in my heat. Zuzu’s Treasure is a lovely color.

Wet ground, how nice. I run my sprinkler regularly. Isn't it funny that we tend to be drawn to a type and color. Lovely Miss Lausious is quite pretty and I like Mighty Chestnut. that is a very pretty shot of Zuzu's Treasure.

Debra, The Robes for the Queen seedling has been slow, bud count isnt great yet. I love purple so it will stay here. This season is its best so I’m hopeful it will do even better.

Sherry - Thanks for the report on the Robes seedling. As I recall, it got 11-12 buds per scape when it was here.

Lovely Miss Lausious is quite beautiful. Raindeer Antlers is a great red. Your Zuzu looks more lavender like mine does.
