connox.com has some great pendants. I like the @ Tradition FlowerPot lights which are available in lots of colors. The Poulson PH5 is a classic and is available in many sizes and colors (and not just on this site). I also like the @ Tradition Utzon.

it’s 120” long with (i believe..not home to check it) a 16” overhang

Seems like there would be more space for the kitchen if the island was turned.

I also think that 72" is long enough to hold 3 bar stools, but visually it will appear cluttered. I'd consider an island pendant that hangs from a single junction box. This is a small space.

The lights you like at 15" in diameter could work in the space.

I love those cone lights but with 3 stools I would do 3 lights so maybe smaller but the same style I think the simpler those are the better idf MCM is the aim. I also do not love the kitchen layout but probably too late to fix it but IMO crossing in front of the range to go from fridge to sink is very poor design.

Thanks. We are open to using only 2 stools if it works best for that size. We can’t change the configuration of the island because we have a table on the other side. As for the location of the fridge, we’ve had it like this for years and it has worked fine. I don’t know any different! But years ago we had it designed this way. The only thing different here is that we tore down a wall to turn it from a peninsula to and island. We lost some uppers in the process but love the openness and are excited that we figured out a way to make an island work. Initially we didn’t think there was a way to do that. Our house is from 1958 and lots of small rooms and a little bit odd of a layout.

Also, I think being able to fill a pot up with water right next to the sink seems more useful than having a fridge right next to sink. So I’m not sure I understand the reason this is a poor design.

I believe the concern is the traffic pattern of going from the sink to the fridge behind the back of the cook all the time.

It hasn’t been a problem and there is not really another option, unless we scratch the idea of an Island…which I’m not doing.

my old house had tiny galley kitchen, stove right next to sink and fridge behind. didn’t even reed to take a step to get anything, lol.

I’m now thinking 2 stools will be better. I doubt all 3 of us will actually sit there for a meal…so I might as well go for a little more room. I’m thinking waterfall counters and 2 stools with 2 pendant lights. Will that work visually/functionally with my space?

jenwinston, finally remembered to check measurements. you had asked dimensions of my island and overhang…island is 112” long, 58” deep with 20” overhang
