You'll get more comments if you can post pictures of sample boards next to the cabinets. People don't like to click on links and it's difficult to tell how well two things go together when they're in different pictures. That said, I think your instincts are right and neither floor is going to look right with the cabinets. Have you considered painting or refacing them? They have a yellow tone that you're going to have difficulty finding something to go with. That's just because what is popular now is not what was popular when those cabinets were installed.

If matching is so important to you, perhaps have unfinished HW installed and and stain it to match.

I would take the darkest of your four samples, because it provides a nice contrast with the wood rather than being a near-match. And the undertones harmonize. With your new lighter counters, you can afford a couple of shades darker on the floor, and that will still feel like a medium tone in the other rooms.

I think you either have to go a couple shades darker or a couple shades lighter than your cabinets, and stick with a warm undertone to complement the cabinets. I live in the Pacific Northwest so understand the worry about a dark home. Is the paint in the rest of your home very light? If you choose a slightly darker flooring, you can lighten up the paint and keep things light that way. Also, you can update your recessed lights - the modern ones are so much better than the old pot lights, and it’s an easy fix.

White Oak in natural finish can be the best choice in many home remodeling projects. People often overlook at the fact that is the most beautiful form of wood. Before it was getting super-hot 5 to 6 years ago, as far as I know it has long been the most-recommended specie by wood floor professionals simply because it is not only an easy-to-work-with specie, but also a make-client-happy specie.
