lkloes Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, in that area is the valve boxes for the irrigation so I can't put any trees or the roots will affect the lines. I do have - they are hard to see - three orange Texas yuccas that have 5-6 foot stalks with flowers. I have another side of the yard on the right out of picture view and I'm planing some fruit trees and edible fruited bushes.

arcy_gw I thought there would be no mowing as well...the miniclover isn't so mini and grew about 8 inches even though the seed bag said 4-6 inches. So I've had to mow it but it's been more resilient than the grass.

Qianru Ma Thank you. I drew the basic design and I asked Celery to do a rendering. I contracted out parts of the work like my regular lawn guy to till and remove the grass and to put in the new dirt/mulch. I had an irrigation contractor come and move the sprinklers, add some new valves and the drip lines. Another contractor came and put in the hardscape that I picked out and had delivered. My niece and I planted all the plants. I found it would have been much more expensive if I just hired a landscape company. This way I could do the work as I could afford to do it.

I really like the stones in gravel path that you have installed.

Looks so nice! And it will continue to get better as the plants grow and fill in more, too.

This was very well done, such curb appeal now. The combination of having some grass, but then also a circle stone path with plants is a great idea. It has a lot of character now.
