Help! how to style intricate tile

We just moved into a rental home with intricate tile all throughout the house. I want to put a rug in the living room that would bring a warm cozy feeling to the room. I feel like a plain rug would make it too sterile feeling. Below are some pictures of the tile. What would be a good rug to flow with this tile?

A natural fiber with a texture. your tile would act as a border.

I would get one with some natural texture and some subtle coloring that will help tie the cool gray walls and warm floors and furniture together.

Make sure you get a rug large enough to work with your sofa. If ordering online, you can always order the smallest version to see if you like the texture and colors in your space. Then, if it doesn't work out, you won't have to haul a giant rug to the post office.
