How to wire radial fan with speed controller?

I have a 2200m3/s radial fan that I am attempting to wire up using a speed controller. They were bundled by the manufacturer so I presume they are the correct pairing and the fan motor supports the speed controller. However, I don't have any instructions or manual beyond the diagram on the back of the speed controller.

The speed controller has 6 connections; M, M, GND, GND, N, L. I've wired the speed controller up to the mains (230V 50Hz) using the right-hand three connections; GND, N, L. What I'm not sure about is the two M connections and which way around they go when connecting to the fan motor.

The fan motor has three available connections; Red+Blue, White+Black, and Green/Yellow. The white cables go to the capacitor. The Green/Yellow I know is the ground so will connect that to the available GND on the speed controller.

I just don't know which M on the speed controller goes to the Red+Blue and which M goes to the White+Black. As you may have gathered I am not an experienced electrician. This is for a DIY project.

I don't think it matters.

No. The two M connections are for the fan.

You are confusing European and US 230 volt wiring. Based on this diagram, European 230 volt wiring is just like US 120 volt wiring:

You have a 230v motor. You'll need to two live connections from a 230v feed to the M connections. Having said that, I'm not familiar with your fan/controller. What country are you in? Have you called the manufacturer?

As with any 230 volt device the controller nor motor cares which terminal the two HOT leads connect to. It's interesting the controller mfgr designates power wires as neutral and conductor. Wiring diagrams for equipment manufactured for use in USA call m and m Load 1 and Load 2 , N and L Line 1 and Line 2.

wdccrulse since you appointed yourself to "unconfuse" us mortals,go ahead and tell us EXACTLT where each of 3 conductors in your illustration connect to the Led Lamp. They simply wander off into la la land in your illustration which does us mortals no good what so ever. For that matter all your illustrations are worthless since wires disappear instead of showing terminal connections which is what op asked about. Confused? I think not,from looking at your illustrations a team of electrical engineers couldn't swear which terminals the wires connect to.

Three conductors would be connected to a 230-volt UK lamp socket the same way three conductors would be connected to a 120-volt US lamp socket as shown in this illustration:

Nope, the OP only asked about connecting the fan wires to the controller. She did not ask about connecting the controller to the "mains" as she explained she'd already done.

That's the picture you should have posted to begin with if you thought it was even necessary in response to me saying the wire names are "interesting".

Why would I have posted that picture when (a) the OP's question -- which you misunderstood -- had nothing to do with it and (b) it was only you who didn't understand the difference between UK and US wiring?
