Twinning AC Wiring

Hey there,

I've got twinning Carrier units that are wired similar to this video here: Watch from 40 seconds - 2 min

I can not understand how does the R get energized on the secondary unit in cooling mode if the R wire is hooked up to a relay with W and C? how can this possibly work in AC mode, what am I missing?

    Doesn't surprise me,all those guys worry about is how many views they get. I'm not sure this will help you but most low volt circuit controls only control one side of transformer power,other side of transformer is hardwired in without means of interrupting it. I'm not sure why the second furnace needs that relay and can't just be wired parallel.

    Thats because they dont want to overload and fry the transformer...

    DIY assumes you know how to do it. It doesn't mean run to youtube / houzz or tiktok.


    People providing how to info get paid by clicks, and the *appearance* of helping.


    The method of twinning can and does vary depending on a host of various factors. I'm not in the business of guessing, but occasionally I decide to drop a few truth bombs here and there.

    Not going to comment on things *I don't know for sure* things are faked on the internet all the time for the sake of getting a "click". They call it click bait... it's designed to get you to click it. It's not truly designed to *help*.


    If it was there to actually help you? --- you wouldn't be here wasting your time either. Would you?


    If you want to learn: go to a trade school. (those cost money because they actually teach you how to do it.)
