We purchased floating address numbers because we loved the width/style of the numbers. We have a duplex (owner occupied) and we had to work with where the lighting was previously installed, so each porch side looks different as far as the presentation of the numbers. They looked fantastic during the day! Then last night I turned on the porch light and was horrified. The numbers looked eery and hard to read and all the imperfect detail of the stucco was in full view.

I currently have put some black electrical tape on the bottom light stream to prevent flooding the porch wall with light. I'll know more tonight if that helps.

Regarding the numbers: they were from Amazon and the company is from China. I am unable to find flush mount numbers made by them and other companies have similar looking numbers, but different widths. I want to avoid patching the drill holes and use the same ones.

Another option is for my handyman to remove those numbers, make a larger hole to push the numbers in so they are flush, and put a different type of anchor in the stucco to secure the numbers. However, I don't know how difficult these numbers will be to remove and if they (or the stucco) will be damaged in the process.

Regarding the lighting: are there other styles that don't cause this issue with the floating numbers? This light is LED so it is super bright, but I'm wondering if it is also due to the style of how it flares out the light. We had siding before and this is the first light up with stucco. Same porch light, new floating numbers. We didn't have any issues before like this. :(

Any suggestions are appreciated - thank you in advance! I may end up just living with black electrical tape at the bottom of the light.
