An exposed aggregate finish is typically less expensive than a stamped or stained one.

Where is your driveway? What region of the country? How big is your driveway?

@millworkman I’m in NC. Here’s a better picture (left). The house was built in 68.

My son plays basketball at the top of the driveway so aggregate may not be the best option.

I dont see anything wrong with the way it is now. Stain, may wear and look blotchy. Right now, it looks nice, like a driveway should.

You can get concrete with a color mixed in. Of course that does cost extra, not sure how much. My parents had a very large concrete patio poured with a color added. it did have a slight pink hue, but a sealant was going to be applied that would darken color to a light brown..not gray anyway. Had to wait until the next year to apply the (clear) sealant, applied with a roller, easy to apply, but not cheap either and is stinky. Did have to power wash first. One thing that was noticed. Although not a dark brown it noticeably hotter in the sun after the sealant was applied which I attribute to the darker color after the sealant was applied.
