I like the way it's surrounded by hardscaping to prevent spreading.

Tradescantia ohiensis for the species. T. virginiana spreads by rhyzomes, but T. ohiensis self seeds to the point of being weedy, and it's vollunteers form a deep root quickly, and usually need to be dug out. A beautiful plant with true blue flowers. Edible, so safe around pets.

i had some in the back yard.. and the seed rolled down the driveway.. so now i have them 100 feet down the driveway.. and in many cracks along the drive....

Lol Ken. I don't regret planting it, but I do regret not deadheading it consistently. It does like to grow in cracks and patio bricks.

Thanks everyone! She has quite a bit of hard scape around this area so it doesn’t seem to be spreading. This is neighbor that also has the robustissima anemone. That has formed a large area near her front door. She has told me that the anemone has pretty well stayed put in this area that it did fill out. So, the
Tradescantia has quite the competition. lol
