So you have small kitchen and a huge range I need pictures of the space for sure . BTW pot fillers the most useless thing ever in any kitchen. IMO if carrying pots is ahuge isse then a sink next to the range is a much better idea. The boiling water filled pot is by far the big danger . As for the floor is the pic what the floor next to the kitchen is? If so do the same in the kitchen . The backsplash who knows. The 2 bottom pics do not IMO work togetr colorwise and throwing another black into the mix is IMO a bad idea. I sure hope you have mega lighting all LED 4000K since all those choices will eat light .The backsplash and the wall color are the last choices you make so wait until all else is in then come back with pics of the whole space . I love grays but not dark ones usually in small spaces but I need to see your space .

Thank you so much for your honest feedback. Yes, the floor that is throughout the house and adjacent to the kitchen is what is in that picture. That floor is also under marmoleum in the kitchen right now and it will likely be destroyed when that gets pulled up, and, a portion of the floor was ripped up due to flooding. So, we would have to start fresh with new wood flooring then and try to match this 80+ year old flooring. Would you still recommend doing that? I will take some additional pictures of the space and post them here. Thank you

I was wondering why you have decided against White? The Galdiator Grey has a hint of olive in it, I like it. you could introduce some rich reds, purples in with fabrics for a great pop. I agree with the pot filler, they eally are just for show, kind of an expensive show, when you could put that $ into light fixtures.

a soapstone counter would be softer than a black. I hope you have some great natural light. Good Luck! Post some pix when you are finished, it's always fun to see results!

Thank you very much. I probably should have included my inspo picture in the original post too. I’m adding it here. I’m not opposed to a white backsplash, maybe I am just rethinking the Zellige style? It sounds like the pot filler isn’t necessary so I will likely send it back. We have already purchased the countertop material but it has not been cut so perhaps we will look at other options. But I do like the black, the photo is not our actual slab but is the source for the original inspo pictures, as is this exact Zellige tile and color. I appreciate the feedback and will be excited to post pictures once the renovation is complete.

I really like your choices and your inspiration photo! I think if you can match the adjacent hardwood floor, that's your best choice. If not, you could go with a black and white checkerboard floor, or a limestone or slate look tile.

I'd wait till you get your floor and everything else to choose a backsplash. You could do any kind of white tile, not necessarily zellige. Or you may want something with some pattern since everything else is pretty quiet.

Some of the people who post here are very opinionated, take it all with a grain of salt! Hope you'll post pics when you're done.

I’m definitely considering carrying the the wood flooring through now. For the backsplash, and this definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but maybe go in a totally different direction with these samples pictured in the next post, since I can’t paste it here. This is not our forever home so maybe we have a bit of fun with it, I don’t know. I do love the varying options and opinions. It gives me something to chew on.
