Yes. Bad timing. Deciduous trees are best moved when they are dormant and in cool weather. And, for future reference, you usually move things with regard to their speed of growth, root mass, level of permanence in the landscape and ease of replacement. So you should have moved the grass, not the tree. A good gardener should have given you this information and advised strongly against your plan.

All you can do now is water it like heck. And remove those tight tape ties. Replace with looser, soft ties and, if it survives, remove them and the stake in due course.
