Regretting pull-out shelves

Hi!

We are 4 months of living in our newly redone kitchen. It is not an incredibly large kitchen, and I am now regretting the pull-out shelves in the pantry cabinet. I think i rather have the extra space (a couple inches on each side plus the ability to pile things higher without it falling over the edge) than the pull-out feature.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Anyone bite the bullet and have pull-out shelves replaced with standard shelves in some cabinets? I know i spent $$ on these, so its a hard pill to swallow.

Thank you!

So .....change it or be annoyed.

The trend away from pullout shelves is nearly a two decade affair.

Shelves.....D.R.A.W.E.R.S.... a zillion options. Open the pantry and show what you have. In a picture in a comment box below...in fact, show the whole kitchen

I would change them if you don't like them.

But I think things get lost in the back of those pantry cabinets that are deep enough to have a pullout, or a drawer if they are just at the back of a shelf behind lots of other stuff.

I know this forum loves its drawers everywhere, but I don't think drawers everywhere is necessarily the answer. If its a tall pantry, you can't have drawers as far up as you can have a shallow pullout where you can see things and access things that are at the back from the sides.

It depends on how deep the cabinet is. If it pisses you off, change it and be done. Life is too short to stress over this on a daily basis.

I ahve always loved true pullot pantries but never pullout shelves behind doors . I still think base cabinets should all be drawers but oantries need access to the whole thing and IMO the best way to get that is a true poullout This is a rev-a-shlf insert you might want to check them out to maybe retro fit.

IF that is a 24" deep cabinet, the ONLY way you ever find the can of beets underneath all the noodle packs at the back is if you have a pull out. If it's a 12" deep pantry, yes, get rid of the pull outs.

A two foot deep shelved pantry is a non problem. I have one.

You simply reduce the depth of shelving to 18 inches, and use the full width inside. The ease of access and visibility is perfectly fine, and the floor and even the first shelf at bottom, afford the full depth for bulky items.

The rest is organization and up to owner of said pantry : )

how wide is it? I helped a friend figure one out.....NARROWER......15 in wide with full depth rollouts and she has no problem..it holds plenty . i think narrower at the full depth helps. Depends on your dimensions. .some of the rollouts can have higher sides too.

shown....very wide but not deep. the sides of the trays can be ordered higher. Maybe you can make some adjustments. If you are piling up the goods and thats why things topple maybe another tray needs to be added. Note these items are single high...no stacking. 4 rollouts within about 54-60 in tall cabinet.
