Swapping out AC to DC ceiling fan/wall switch help, please.

We are attempting to replace an old AC ceiling fan with a light with a new DC fan/no light (remote only). I think the fan is installed correctly but we are stuck at the wall switch. My hubby is too stubborn to ask so here I am (and I don’t know much so please bear with me). The copper ground wires are twisted together and therefore seem too thick to wrap around the green screw of the single pole switch we are attempting to use. Our old fan wall switch had a small wire that attached to the ground wire. Is there an easy fix for this? I’ll attach pictures of the current box situation as well as the OLD fan switch that had the green wire that was able to accommodate the braided ground wires. Thank you!!
