Definitely out of order and those windows almost look like they have trim on them already. Trim first then siding definitely, especially if not using the vinyl casing.

Did not see that in the LP siding instructions.I see a few problems doing it the way it was done. I would want to see what they did with corners before the trim was installed, it needs to be water tight . The siding should have been painted before trim installed on top.The trim should have been painted as wellas it is not even primed in tye back The siding and trim have contact points where water can be trapped and lead to rot.

At this point I’d leave the windows alone and address the corners.

That does not look very water tight .

At this point you may know more than your contractor.

I would suggest looking at the LP siding installation methods, they even have pictures.

The installation configuration for your house is shown in the LP Smartside lap siding installation instructions as an "Alternate" method (trim over siding) instead of the "Preferred" method (siding butts trim) at inner and outer corners. Your contractor should have asked you if you wanted the Prefered or the Alternate method.

However, at window heads only the "Preferred" method (siding butts trim) is shown and for good reason; any other configuratin will leak.

Show a photo of the window heads at the side of the house where there is no overhang..

Also, there is no flashing visible at the siding to stone sill intersection.
