IMO SZ is over rated and over priced . Are you just wanting the range ? I have no issue with mixing those with a decent quality stainless fridge ideally with plain doors no ice or water I think they work well togtehr and let the range be the star. If you want a bit higher end looking fridge do the Electrolux with built in kit I use those often for clients who are not interested in a8-10K

Ah yes, Patricia and her usual disdain for Sub Zero. Have one, love it. If you're doing that high end of a range, lower end other appliances will just not look right. Get something sleek like SZ or Miele. Now, would I spend 18K for the SZ with the see through door? No. But I covet it!!

This is a somewhat confusing post. First, when you refer to a "la cornue oven," I am guessing you are referring to a La Cornue range, with built-in ovens? not a freestanding oven? And are you considering their CornueFe lower end units (in the $10-$20K range, comparable to a Lacanche), or a true La Cornue range (maybe $50K?). If you're in the market for the latter, then any decision about other appliances would seem to be superfluous--if you can afford a $50K range, then just get the other appliances you want and be done with it.

If you're looking at a CornuFe or Lacanche, in the $10K-$20K range, then maybe there's mre of a discussion. The design issue you are referring to is whether you can do a very striking enameled range like the CF or the LC, and stainless steel appliances, it's personal choice, though I would bet that the majority of CF/LC ranges are installed in kitchens with custom panelled fridge/DW. I do think there's a clash between a colorful range and "boring" SS appliances. And I don't think a SS Subzero in any way circumvents that issue. Visually it's no different than any other SS fridge. But I wonder if the CF/LC ranges are really what are reasonable given your budget? If you don't think you can cover the costs of custom panels for appliances, then does blowing your budget on the range make sense? I'd be interested in seeing what you are thinking of for all your appliance choices and then considering if the high end range makes sense.
