Customer and home owner is always right. Your decorator isn't and won't be actualy living there every day and night.

Are you willing to post a photo of your space? Not everybody here is nice but you might get better advice if people can see what you're looking at.

I love the look of two sofas facing. Without seeing a picture, which might change my mind, I say go for it!

Your correct solution depends on whether your room is large enough to accommodate the space needed for two sofas and two swivel recliners.

How do you suppose that question gets answered? Get the tape measure out to verify there is enough space in the room.

Room floorplan with exact measurements is needed. Even your decorator should be able to discuss & sketch out what different options would look like AND function.

To me there are several aspects that often aren’t considered up front.
-line of sight to the most important focal point. Is it the TV? Will sofa perpendicular to TV have good comfortable view? Will each occupant have to turn sideways? This can be less an issue large screens. But one reason why swivel chairs are popular.
— who needs to put their feet up? Where will that be? Will there be ottoman or tough coffee table and again how does that work sideways or for furniture across from it.
-Do you plan for table for drinks or snacks? Will that be end tables, coffee table or both? 2 chairs often allows for a small table between, serving both chairs. Sofa uses coffee and or end table. I find tables by the arms of furniture much easier to access, but I like to put my get up on our rustic coffee table!

Do you need lamps? Furniture placement, floating furniture and cords are big issues today. Many rooms no longer use any table lamps by the seating because of the float.

2 sofas really only seat one more person and that’s usually if all family. But that may matter.

So, those are some things to think about when considering furniture placement, and also the sizes. My impression is that many people including decorators, as well as inspo photos, don’t tick a lot of the realistic, comfort boxes.
