I’ve been working on the hunting and fishing quilt for my stepson It’s all pieced and about a third quilted, but I ran into an issue and have to do some ripping I hope to be able to post a picture soon.

You do know "mid-century modern". It's from the 50's and early 60's modern furniture. It's just an abbreviation for that.

It has been quiet! I've been busy selling my house & moving aboard the sailboat. Then all the projects we had to complete before heading down river have not allowed for much quilting time.

I've heard of MCM, but to be honest, I didn't know quite what it was. That is a lovely pattern, Theresa, and your color choices are spot on!

I will try to get my sewing area organized in the v-berth and get quilting...right now it pretty much looks like a bomb went off in there!

I was just thinking about you Char and wondering how the move went.

Char, I’m envious of your move to your sailboat although I would have to abandon my longarm. I spent 20 years sailing and racing my 22’ sloop here in Minnesota. Please tell us again which boat you own and where you will be cruising.

I have a 1989 Brewer 44ft cutter. She is a heavy displacement(30K lbs) ocean going cruiser...very stable & comfortable, but we won't win any races, lol. We are currently on Lake Barkley in KY & will head down the Tennessee/Tom Bigby waterway on October 15th. She (Shelagh) is almost ready to go! Sold the house in early August & have been living aboard at marina since.

Ooooh, Shelagh is a beauty! Her teak is pristine. All roller-furlings. Now I really am envious. Where will you go after you exit the Tenn-Tom? If you are heading to the Caribbean, St. Vincent and the Grenadines to be specific, you have to stop at the island of Bequia. My sister and her partner own and operate a restaurant there, the Porthole.

We have to have mast put up with rigger in Mobile, also getting solar/lithium batts installed there, could take a month. Then heading to Tarpon Springs area to holiday w/family. After Christmas, will sail to Ft. Myers for a week or so before rounding Key West & heading for Bahamas. We have 2 weddings(both kids)next year during hurricane season so plan is to take boat to Grenada & do more work there, if needed, and fly to MO in July & October for weddings. After that, we may work our way back north up the islands.

Beautiful boat! This must be a dream come true for you.

It is our retirement dream, bkay. We are talking about heading down Leeward islands before next hurricane season...we will see. Then stay for a while. Bequia is definitely on our list of stops. We will make a point to visit at the Porthole!!
