Pull out shelf help needed for Mom

Hello. I’m trying to reorganize my Mother’s kitchen. She just has back surgery and I’m trying to make things more accessible. Her pots and pans are in this cabinet under the island. I have a hard time reaching them myself!

She got a quote to have pull outs installed but it was super expensive and over her budget. Any creative ideas or less expensive options that you know of as far as a pull out that I could possibly install myself?

The hinges on her cabinets are insanely big and get in the way of everything!

Appreciate any advice! Thank you!

Perhaps a cookware stand (aka cookware tower)? The most used pots/pans could go on the middle tiers. I would still be concerned about the ones placed on the lower tiers because she would have to bend. But at least she would not have to reach.

I agree with the above suggestions. Rev-a-Shelf (and cheaper knockoffs) are pretty easy to install--no need to hire it out. You'll have to get ones that fit between the hinges and lose some space, but it'll be worth it. The cookware tower is kind of neat if there is space. Pot racks are the same idea...

Thank you everyone! She does not have a pantry and not many cabinets! I put together a pantry in her garage and organized her canned goods, etc. Love that pot rack idea! It would have to go in the garage because there is nowhere to put that but I love the idea.

Wow Rev A Shelf really went up on their prices!! I remodeled my kitchen in 2017 what a difference… like everything else!

I will hunt for some knock offs on Amazon and see what I can come up with. Do they all have to be screwed into the cabinet? I will investigate. Considering that these townhomes were built for retirees, nothing is very accessible! Thanks again.

Also her garage is right off the kitchen so it works. It’s the only option.

How handy are you? Home Depot sells DIY rollout kits that let you do custom size for cheap.

My mom installed Rev a Shelf in a lower cabinet (herself!) and loves it. Highly recommend.

I've done it two ways: Rev A Shelf pullouts in my current kitchen (where I could remove the shelf), and Blum Metaboxes in my Mom's kitchen (where the shelf didn't come out).

This is a good opportunity for both you and her to pare down what she has. Get rid of things that just aren't used.

Amen - so many things in her cabinet she doesn't even use that are taking up space!
