I don't think I've ever seen mirrors facing each other like that in a bath, but since this is 70's it is not surprising lol.

So one side will be washer/dryer. Consider lighting for that side of the room, too.

If you go for pendants they will reflect in the mirror...for interest and to cast more light.

Just above eye level is a good height.

If anyone is trying to check makeup in the mirror, sconces are better than pendants.

If you do sconces or pendants, then I'd add an overhead light for laundry and miscellaneous use.

Is the big mirror staying? Usually the wiring is installed for a wall sconce, and then the mirror is cut to fit around it.

We installed two large mirrors that meet in the corner and a sconce was mounted on each mirror. So with two sconces we get the effect of eight fixtures including the reflections. Very nice.

The big mirror is staying, probably framed in to update it a bit and cover those edges losing the backing. So the sconces would be mounted on the side walls, not the mirror wall. Either way, I'm concerned that the light would be in my ear. ;-)

I agree. If the mirror is staying, you can't have even light with one sconce. But same with a pendant really. You would have to have a sconce on the side wall and a pendant hanging in front of the mirror on your right.

Hmmm. My head is spinning lol.

Since this is a little used bath, I would consider keeping the light bars, replacing the bulbs with frosted bulbs for your soft even light, and call it a day.

Perhaps you could look into add can lights and then pendant lights on either side of the mirror.
