In my previous house I installed a Miele CSO under the counter, in the island. The plumbed model with water supply and drain, which was an easy connection as I had a sink in the island. Miele had instructions/specs on how to install under a counter. I wasn't looking to install under a cooktop, so don't know about that part of your question.

Never had any issues with the steam at that height, but no different than opening a hot oven and getting blasted with heat. You wouldn't open a hot oven and stick your head too close, so don't do it with a steam oven either! My kids were taught not to touch certain kitchen appliances without permission.

This is extremely helpful since this is the model I’m looking at.

Well, in my previous house it was my 3rd oven! I had a 48" Wolf Dual Fuel range and the Miele CSO.

In my current house it is my 2nd oven as I have a 36" Wolf induction range.

In both cases the Miele CSO was/is the most used oven and I only use the oven in the range for holidays. Get the XXL model.

So yes, I could manage with just a Miele CSO XXL.

Yes, I really like induction cooking. Much more control of the heat and so much easier to clean.
