Flu vax blues.....

They didn't have the Covid, will have to go back, but got the flu vax day before yesterday. I have some (normal) side effects, headache and some body aches. Feeling really bleah. Not complaining too loud, it is better than getting the flu. Just kvetching a little.

Lucille I am glad you got the flu vax. Maybe not a bad idea to space them out as some have recommended.

I am sorry you are not feeling well, Lucille.

I got the flu vax last week and the Covid one last night. I would have preferred to space them out, but given the timing of an upcoming trip I decided that it was better to get both before we leave. Flu shot did not cause side effects. Today my arm is sore from the Covid shot, but otherwise so far so good. The rollout of the new Covid shot seems to be a little spotty.

I got my flu vax on Saturday along with the RSV vaccine. I only had mildly tender upper arms at injection sites. Getting the updated booster this weekend.

We're waiting till the end of October for the flu vaccine. Will probably get the RSV next week and then the Covid shortly thereafter.

We’re both scheduled to get the triple shots next week. I scheduled it when we both have light schedules just in case.

I never get multiple vaccines at one time. We got the covid vaccine/booster yesterday. No side effects, not even soreness at the site, which I think I have had with the others. We won't get a flu shot till October so to carry us through the season. I can only remember side effects with it once. I woke up during the night feeling bad, but thankfully when I got up the next morning I was fine. I do sometimes have a sore arm. Sorry it is effecting you!

I had the updated COVID on Mon 9/18, local Walgreens. Made the appt online late Fri night, for 11a on 9/18, the earliest available date. WG called @ 9:53a, said the expected supply hadn't arrived, maybe on Wed. WG called back 10:07a, supply has arrived. I was presumably their first recipient of it. Yay!

I had no reaction to the previous COVIDs. This one the arm was sore the following day (Tue 9/19) and slight fatigue. A bit of twinge if it's probed and smidgen of warmth today (Wed 9/20). Shringrix had a stronger effect.

I'll get the influenza vaccine in Oct and maybe RSV.

I think I'll space them but still haven't decided on the RSV. Flu in a week or so, covid after that.

I hope you feel better soon.

My DH and I got all three--the flu, RSV, and new Covid, all together yesterday. We both had sore arms for the rest of the day. Not much soreness today, slight headache, but otherwise no side effects.

    I'm sorry you're not tip-top today.

We haven't had ours yet. Maybe will go for our flu shot next week. Last year we got the bivalent Covid booster and flu shot same day, last day of Sept. I rec'd mine same arm and developed a rash at injection site that was nothing major - bit of cortisone cream and it was gone in two days. But I may not do same day same arm again.

We stopped on our way home from shopping yesterday and checked with the little clinic where we've had all 5 our Moderna shots. They've had no word yet on when they will receive a supply of the new vaccine - or at least there has been no word that has been passed on to staff that they could share. I've heard of no place in our small community giving them yet, nothing on any of our chain pharmacy websites for the local stores either.

I know it's recommended to get Flu and COVID together, but I don't like the chance of worse side effects than if it were done singly. I usually just have sore arm and sometimes fatigue.

I agree, the shots are definitely better than the alternative.

I had nothing but a very slight and short lived soreness at the injection site with both flu and covid on the same day last year. Was planning on separating this year, but with an upcoming trip, I will either have a shorter than ideal separation or do them together again.

It's okay to get flu and COVID shots at the same time, but recommended that you space out the RSV. I have not had any reaction beyond a sore arm, but I'd prefer to have my reactions, if any, all at once.

Sure hope you feel better soon, Lucille! ❤️

I got both flu & Covid yesterday. Saw my Dr this morning & I am running a low grade fever. I barely could get out of bed this morning. Sure hope this passes by tomorrow.

I got my flu vaxx about a week ago, no side effects. I got the new Covid one on Saturday, and I am still sick and very fatigued. Hopefully we all feel better soon.

Our insurance doesn't cover RSV one even though we are 60+, so not getting that one this year.

My neighbor reported a few mins ago that he tried to make an appt for COVID at Walgreens, they're out of the vaccine. They apparently received maybe six doses in the delivery two days ago being that vaccine numbers are very low in this town.

Like terrezosa, I won't get my flu shot until mid October. I also won't get both vaccines together. The past 3 years (since I started getting the high dose flu vaccine) I have had a sick day or 2 afterward, and I have suffered much more with each of the Covid (fortunately the boosters were not as severe as the initial one, which had me unable to function for the better part of 2 days). I fear having reactions to both at once.

I’m heading to London next month so ran out last night for Covid, but not the flu. Have the usual sore arm and headache, but this time my joints and hair hurt. Yes I said hair, specifically at the root. When I do get the flu shot, I tend to react worst than getting the flu 99% of the time.

New Covid shot isn't available yet in my area, but I did get the flu shot on Sept. 1st.

Every time I've gotten a COVID vaccine, I've gotten sick with chills, fatigue, aches the next day or two later. I just take Tylenol and climb into bed to keep warm.

Hope you feel better soon! I am scheduled for the RSV and flu vax tomorrow morning. Hopef Hopefully, the new Covid next week (not available here yet).

Lucille, are you feeling better today? I had my shot today under extremely funny circumstances. Had a checkup mid afternoon and I was the only patient! That's a bad time of the day to make a doctor's appointment.

While in the waiting room the power went off as it did in the whole town, and was still off when I left. The nurse was fantastic and did it by a small lantern, and it was painless. Arm isn't sore at all, and so far I feel good. Hope I can say the same tomorrow!

Doc and I laughed a lot in the dark. Thank goodness the hospital next door had their generators on.

Oakley thank you, and yes I feel better this morning. I am hoping everyone there by you has their electricity back on. I am thankful for both vaxes and electricity.

Got the flu, will get covid and RSV soon. we’ll be traveling, so good to do. I wear a mask in crowded situations and places like elevators.

A little off topic—I read that covid tests will be free again starting next Monday.

Lucille, glad to hear it. This is Friday, right? lol Wednesday was my shot which I told you about and how I didn't feel a thing. Yesterday my arm hurt only when I used the muscle. I had energy and as the day progressed I couldn't concentrate on anything. I even had a mild dizzy spell making a turn in the house. Last night I almost did a topic asking if anyone has felt off kilter before. My cup of coffee was sitting next to me and when I took a drink there was only water inside. It had to be the shot.

I was wondering anyone’s experience with RSV vaccine. I was offered flu at my primary care appointment last week but I prefer to wait till the weekend. So DH and I might go tomorrow.

Frustration, the Novavax booster is still not approved/available. I was in the Novavax trial, so I do prefer to keep the same series.

Oakley hope you are back to normal soon. My pharmacy got the Covid back in stock so I just had my Covid vax, hopefully no side effects.

I got my flu shot yesterday. I am not feeling any side effects from it, other than a sore arm. :)

I got both Covid booster and flu shot on Monday the 18th, in different arms.

Very slight fever next day but felt ok otherwise.

I haven't decided on the RSV yet.

Hope you are feeling better Lucille!

Thank you, Lucille. I'm a 100% now. I was a total ditz yesterday. lol

I'll go for the Covid booster this week. I'll wait until the end of October for the flu shot.

What is the difference between the Pneumonia vaccine and the RSV vaccine? Aren't they both designed to prevent Pneumonia?
