First what are the floors in the rest of the home? IMO the same floors everywhere is a much nicer look.I aslo suggest you choose the floor thenthe wall color. I find that color abit pea soup is that the color you want ? I like this cut 25% it is really nice with all wood tones and is truly neutral works with every color.

Engineered wood gets you past the stripey affect because its real wood. European Oak is good in lighter tones and widely available at flooring retailers. Monarch Plank has examples. There are many other sources.

We just built a new home and I used CoreTec's Aurora Oak LVP flooring throughout. It is a light European Oak color and has the durability I wanted. This is a vacation home for us and may be used as a short-term rental in the future, so I wanted something that would take wear and tear. I'm satisfied with this product so far.

The rest of the house has very dark ebony stained wide plank oak floors. This room is a former 3-season AKA “Florida Room” with it’s own exterior door. It’s pretty separate from the rest of the house. I’m a therapist and might see patients in here one day so I’d like it to feel light and airy. I have had Vale Mist in my bedroom for 3 years and I still love it.
