What part of the plant was it growing from? The Haemanthus is a cool species.

Its growing from the soil. Like it’s a hitch hiker plant, but it’s not my average weed. I’m wondering if it maybe came in with the soil more than a decade ago and has just persisted without me noticing…

Psylotum nudum. It has the conspicuous glands along the stem. They don't have roots, so maybe it's in a state of suspended animation? I couldn't remember it's name.

Oh thank you both! How the heck did a bare naked fern find its way into my Haemanthus!? I seem to remember seeing it last year too. I’m just glad that its not parasitic. Here’s the whole thing with the tiny fern poking out… maybe i should repot it.
