Hi heypam, I would suggest putting some blue-ish glass tiles for backsplash and the closest paint suggestion would be BM "summer night", which blends a bit of green to the rich blue color.

I would put really wide mop boards, painted white, plus wide crown molding around ceiling, also painted white.

I would also distress island in a creamy shade to break up so much wood

also, hand a large dramatic light over island

Or, a beautiful pot holder with some copper pots over island

I do want to paint the island. But didn't know if i should go with the same blue on the walls, or a white/off white color.
Any opinions about bead board around the island (not the doors) and as backsplash? I'm in a transitional home. I love bead board. It's "coastal" to me, but I know alot of people say it's "country" I also love glass backsplash.
