Given a 60 inch span do people ever make it look like a pair of 30 “ French doors and use two handles?

That is a LOT of white subway. Start with a different tile/shade. That's the simple answer. Looks like an institution otherwise. So many tile choices out there.

I would either do a couple of horizontal bands of color around that tile, especially because you have so much height. Or I would intersperse colored subway tiles in the whole expanse of white, just to make it fun.

Just to clarify, is this a pic of said bathroom that you're trying to spruce up, or is this pic simply an example of a white bathroom that you don't want to copy?

No one says that using white tile can only use the same tile pattern through the whole. That is what creates the boring look. Not the use of white tile. A 3x6 format can do a basketweave, a herringone, a horizontal stacked bond, a vertical stacked bond, a 50% offset, a 50% vertical offset, an offset field bond, a 1/3 offset, and probably ones I havent even thought about.

Boring 50% brick offset for acres of tile is what is institutional.

I really want to use white tile so that I can choose different color towels and rugs to change things up. However, As an alternative I looked for a marble porcelain tile but found that while the polished tiles,which I would use on the shower walls, looked very realistic the matching Matt tile for the floors was very grey and blurry. A dark floor won’t work in my house.
So, what do u think if I add a header over the shower like this and split the glass up 30 each side and add two pretty polished nickel handles? How much of the tile would anyone really see?

Others have brought up good points and we should edit our comment because, yes, the details and craftsmanship will go long way from boring to classic. Just not the inspo shown in the post as it lacks all of the "interest". The header is a good idea. Important however that the design is consistent with the home, the style and the era. Here, for example is a white subway bath and shower we did with all the finishing details and finely crafted. It is of course more $ for this level of detail.

Oh thank you for this I saw a shower that used the base molding and crown molding and was wondering which tile lines still did this. This shower while attractive in spirit lacks good tile or execution imo

We like Adex Neri for a quality subway with lots of trim options. This is all that line.
