What is the countertop surface? I love it.

I like the pattern (or lack of it). I'm redoing my kitchen and I'm stuck at countertop selection. I don't want quite as much pattern/movement as granite has; but the patterns I like are marble which just isn't right for me because it can stain too easily with any acidic product spill. Is there anything with marble-like patterns but the durability of granite and quartz?

The counter top shown here is granite - Ivory Brown colour. There are MANY granites that have that marble look - fluid pattern without too much detail. The other option would be something like Caesar Stone, which is what the white section of the bench top is in this image. That colour is Snow. Marble is definitely a NO for kitchens as way too soft and thus VERY high maintenance.

I strongly disagree! We have had granite in all of our homes including rental properties. As long as they are sealed correctly - setting hot pans directly from oven or rolling out pie crusts no better choice.

I believe he was speaking of marble being too soft (also porous), not granite. We have granite throughout our home & have been very pleased.

Yes I was referring to marble being too soft & porous - NOT granite! Granite is one of the best natural products you can choose and for areas like the kitchen, make perfect bench tops. I also use the off-cuts from the sink & hob cut-outs as chopping boards. Not only are they tough & easy to clean, they make a beautiful feature piece as well :)

There are several quartz options that resemble marble - without the worry of porosity. I just had a quartz countertop installed in a bath that resembles marble-- but quartz has a less polished looked and it makes it more modern. It is beautiful!
