help! unclear where water damage is coming from?

Hi there, we renovated our bathroom about a year ago, and we have started noticing some water damage around the bottom trim. Note that a couple of months ago, we had a leak problem so we had opened up the shower and made a note that the area inside is bone dry. Could this water damage just be from residual water from our daily showers ? I was hoping for:

how can I confirm if this is damage from inside or outside?
how can I fix it if it’s damage from outside or inside ?

You might want to check out this from the National Tile Contractor's Association, and then get a qualified tile contractor in there. The wood base and shoe is also a no-no. Thank you ! What do you mean by wood base and shoe ? Should this be designed differently ? The installer was organized by our GC so I don’t know :/ the GC had great reviews.

Do you recall if they waterproofed the shower before putting the tile in? It could be that there's in issue with the waterproofing, or that there was no waterproofing done. The water is now making its way out.

Your shower is leaking. This isn''t going to be cheap or easy to fix. This is a callback for the guy that built the shower.
