Help finding pantry cabinet

I bought another house and it has an awkward seating area that I think would be better as a pantry. Problem is, it's only 16" deep. The ones I'm finding are not very strong for canned goods or other heavy items? Anyone know of cabinets that would be about !6" deep, 38" wide? Maybe 72-80" tall or so. I'm open to other ideas for the space as well. Thank you!

To clarify - are you planning on removing the peninsula and putting a floor to ceiling pantry it its place?

@ffpalms Yes, that is correct. I will be replacing the cabinets and countertops and will end the countertop at the corner. There will be no seating.

Are you replacing existing cabinets? I will assume new countertops planned if cutting off peninsula. Given that, would the countertops & new cabinets be extended on both sides of kitchen? That is, extend counter & new cabinet to the outside edge of new pantry that replaces bar counter. And, on opposite side, new counter & at least the lower cabinets extend to replace the free standing white cabinet that’s there. If you’re replacing countertops, & cabinets, the pantry would be matched to the new cabinets. If you’re not replacing existing cabinets, I’d think about extending the counters anyway & have shelving built in under the extensions. That space eater counter micro could be slid down the on extended counter. For the pantry you’re looking for - is there an Ikea store nearby?

Not sure how what's the heaviest load they can carry, but have you considered IKEA's PAX storage systems? It looks like you can order a 13 3/4" D x 79 1/8" H x 39 3/18" W frame, a couple of doors (which will probably bring the overall depth to just under 16") and a bunch of shelves, which may be sufficient for your needs.

Don't know if this is the look you are going for but it was easy to find on wayfair. 15.75" deep.

IKEA Vedhamn is European Oak. Replace or plan to replace everything. Drawer lowers for the main area. Uppers are 15" deep. Stack them for the area you're doing now.

@ KW PNW Z8 Thanks! Yes, I'll be replacing cabinets and countertop. I didn't think about it extending all the way to the edge like a wall extension. That would make it much nicer than just sticking one in the corner. The pics are from the listing photo, so none of that is mine.

@kendrah That is too wide, but thank you for looking!

@ Einav B Thanks, I'll check those out

@dan1888 Those are really pretty, I'll have to check out IKEA more closely. I did think about stacking uppers and that may definitely be the easiest way to do it right. Thank you!

I ahve had Ikea pantries in my kitchen designs for years they hold anything you want to put in them I have one that holds 4 sets of 12 place setting dishes still standijngn after 16 years of use in my own home Thhe issue is the size you want that will need to be custom built so when your KD comes make sure a pantry is part of the design and if you want o save money try to avoid custom fit for cabinets .> I have used Ikea for 22+ yrs of kitchen design and can with a bit of imagination come pretty darn close to acustom look . BTW check out true pullout pantry cabinets not the ones where you need to open the door thn pullout shelves that to me is a wsste of space nad time This is a great one to access everything at a glance
