There is no meat juice dribble between the sink flange and the stone bottom on a properly undermounted sink. No maintainence either. Very sanitary.

Thank you for the reminder of properly undermounted. I did some research and found that improperly mounted or cut undermount sinks happens a lot, even with contractors. There is a lot of weight, with pots and water along with the sink itself, and the cutout needs to be perfect. Here is some good info for what to watch out for.

What do you seal your undermount sink with? @JosephCorlett, LLC I've read about 100% silicone as well as epoxy, then silicone.

Never, ever, epoxy or use construction adhesive to undermount a sink. Perfect way to screw the guy trying to replace your sink and yourself. Silicone and straps only please. Foolproof, waterproof, and reversable.

IMO workstaion sinks are useless . I find all the addons too small fro real work and when they are in use all you have is a small sink. I hate the grid things for the bottom and I do however love a large single bowl deep sink in stainless and undermouted if possible. I do not think double bowls are neccessary with DWs now able to wash everything usually . I run a catering bix from my home and have 2 sinks back to back in my island both are 24" with built in drain board to drain prepped vweggies I have never wished they were bigger . I do however do all my pots , baking pans etc in the DW and often it does 6-8 loads a day. I hate dishes sitting in the sink always .

Well, given that she already loves hers, maybe that's not the most useful advice??

A cutting board over the sink is a must, as my husband loves it for carving the Turkey or hams on the holidays or big parties and we have two places to cut and prep then.

Nothing could ever equal the splendor of the sunset orange sink you currently have. What a treasure! If it is surrounded by an original MCM kitchen, that's heaven. Between it and the view, I wouldn't change a thing.

DeWayne. Yes, but…. It’s so big we cannot use the corner for cabinet space and not big enough for my larger pots, and will need a complete restoration as it’s been heavily used for 55 years. I would gladly donate to anyone wanting it for their mid century masterpiece but functionally is important too.
