I like them. I think the chair is too big although it looks like someones favorite. Might be just the angle making it appear too big. I'd like to see more blue though.

I was wondering if I should repaint the accent wall to match the rest of the walls.

Looks good. Get some cushions that echo the grays, and then get some art for over the couch on the left that includes some of the rust tones. Can't see enough of the rug to comment.

I think the couch is great. I’m never a fan of accent walls (I’m old enough to remember the last couple of times they were popular…) so I would at least paint the walls to match. I would love to see another warm wood tone- chests flanking the fireplace or a wood coffee table. Cute dog btw

Love the color of the couches! I agree with painting the gray wall and mantle white to match the others. What colors are in the rest of your house -- is there more gray? And instead of the small faux tree that gets a bit lost in that location, what about a real, large tree on the right of the fireplace in front of the window? My kids would absolutely love to have a chair like yours!

My house is not an open concept, but kitchen and family room are open concept. I also have dining room which is quite traditional.

Pretty house! I like the earthy tones you have going on and disagree with adding bright color--maybe blues and greens? It looks like you're going warmer overall and eliminating some grays, which I'm on board for. You could start adding warm colors in other rooms to help tie it all together, like recover the seats of your barstools and add warm throw pillows to your piano room.

Here's a room that has a sofa your color but also some grays; I don't think you need to toss your rug just yet.

Looks good! I would get some gray and caramel pillows and find some other ways to spread the colors around the room with accessories and art.

The only problem with these two sofas is they look so great you are now going to want to redo the rest of your home to up your game! Keep them. I'm no fan of an accent wall, though I do love that color and think it looks great with those sofas. Absolute no to a third sofa in the room. But, it seems like you have opened your mind to placing the round kid chair elsewhere.

It looks like this room is more casual and the piano room is formal. Is that right? The round chair may not be the height of chic, but if you have kids and this is your tv room, you could consider keeping it for a while.

I agree,. It's a chair your kids love and it's not hideous. I like it better than the gray couch in its place. The sofas are gorgeous...I actually like them with the charcoal accent wall. With a few tweaks you'll have a really wonderful, comfy family space.

I would keep the chair for the kids and sweet pup, for now. And since it’s the family room, lean more around comfort like maybe small drink tables at each end, and replace coffee table with two accent ottomans between the sofas.
Is the accent wall color a darker shade of what you have on the coffered ceiling? I like the softness of the ceiling color :)

I think the "kids" will find a way to be comfy watching tv no matter what they are sitting on

If it is a question of needing to directly face the tv? Create an L of the new couches, and buy two new comfy swivel chairs for the window wall: )

I like the dark wall where the tv is. It camouflages it well.

Two smaller chairs would make the room feel larger. Or try Jan’s idea of putting the couches in an L shape. Looks like you have people to help (use furniture sliders or thick athletic socks to protect your floors.)

I would leave the couch on the left, other couch facing the fireplace (an "L " shape), and float the round chair in the opposite corner to the "L"

The couches are great (they match the dog) and I don't see any problem with the round chair. I'd repaint the gray wall to the other wall color or at minimum the fireplace woodwork should match the other woodwork in the room.

The two taupe chairs are too big. Two smaller swivel barrel chairs might fit but can’t tell from photo. I don’t think the previous oversized chair was the problem, the accent wall is.

For a moment? Take the chair on the right, away and out of the room.

Slide that one on the left over a bit, and angle it a bit so you are looking at the chest on the right of the fire.

Drape a charcoal throw over the back of the chair. Bring the little round lamp table over as well. Take another picture

What you are ATTEMPTING is to turn the darn room into a media room, and then ask us how to make it gorgeous. The two shall not meet, and this is why our heads swivel

You have a whole other room with no tv .....maybe you need to use that room more than you now do.

Or........you get the tv off the fire, and use the trim wall after you pick one color for the room : )

The chair is just too big and too bright. Try taking the three pillows off of it and putting the green ones on it or 3 other big pillows that are all the same color. Maybe you can make it look smaller by changing the pillow color… also try to throw that Jan suggested.

I think the room is very nice, as is.

The new sofas are fine. And the chair is fine, too. The chair looks comfortable and fun; and I personally don’t see a problem with it. People use oversized chairs, and the chair is not blocking anything in your space. The camera angle - the camera’s close proximity to the chair - may also be making it appear larger than it is irl, I suspect. But even if it is as large as it appears, I don’t see an issue with it. I also think the color is fine. This really is a matter of personal preference in this case, imo. But if you want to connect the color of the chair with the sofas, and also maybe with your accent wall, using a throw as suggested could be a nice idea. Etsy.com sellers have unique items, including throws.

It looks nice; but there was really nothing wrong with your room before. The white pillows and throws that you had on the sofas connected the sofas and chair, and you could have just added a throw on the chair, if you wanted to connect the pieces more.

imo, this was more cohesive.

The accent wall is an accent wall. It can stand on its own. It highlights the fireplace, and works with the tv. You do not necessarily have to match the accent wall to accessories and/or furnishings in the room. Connecting the seating pieces with your accessories, as you did originally, was a smart way to go.

You have a great sense of style and design. I know that you came here looking for advice, because you didn’t think the new sofas were working in the space. But the sofas are fine. So is the chair. And so was your original room.

I love the new couches you got they warm up the space and look very inviting, I feel like the chair you mentioned your kid love really doesn't go that well with the rest of the space, so maybe it you can compromise on putting it in another room. I think a nice wooden coffee table will warm up the space a bit more. I love the gray on the accent wall, but I would make all the walls match, I would even be tempted to make all the walls gray but that might be a bit too dark for your personal taste. I also love the rug that Jan suggested I think it would look really nice in your space.

Try deemphasizing the bulk of the chair with different color pillows or dye the covers of those. Also, center those cabinets on their walls, don't crowd the fireplace.
