Exterior balancing help

Any ideas on balancing the exterior of this home? Love the clean and modern look, but it also feels a little flat and boring (like a box) to me as well.

Are you kidding me? The lines of your house are great! What might be bothering you is the all-white aspect of it. I love blue-gray. The color experts on here might have any really great ideas. Anyway, lovely home in a very lovely setting.

Landscaping is what you need I do agree it might be nice for the home to be a color not white but color can be added with thelandscaping some big colored pots on the porch or if that porch is deep enough for chairs add those in a color The hoses needs balance in the landscaping add some trees beds of perennials etc.

Agree that your house is beautiful and you need more landscaping. The walkway needs more plants/shrubs/flowers on the left side. Have a landscaping designer help you do a whole bed in front of the house - or list this again as a landscaping dilemma. There are a lot of hugely talented Houzzers who can visualize that front garden for you. Where do you live? Plants need to be decided based on your location.

I, personally, love the white. It’s fresh and clean and happy. Don’t paint your house so fast. Start envisioning more interesting gardens in the front.

Your house is lovely, but think it could benefit from softening, layering and some contrast. There are lots of options, depending on interest and budget.

Landscaping: variety/color/height/boulders along the pathway, with a curve facing the street. Even break up the expansive lawn with a burm.

Porch: could beef up columns (see DIY article) and stain vs paint and add furniture, creating an inviting, layered feel. Strip and stain garage corbels as well.

Could also paint garage doors the same as front door.

all the plants and the walkway are smashed up against the house and then it’s all alone by itself in this massive field. The forest doesn’t even dare to approach the house, making it look bigger and flatter. a good landscape design would help a lot. the walkway could leave more room i between house and path. in site design an indirect path creates interest. plants that have a variety of colrs heighta and textures will help here too

are those arbor vida? take them out and replace with tuscan cypress or skyrocket juniper, and for the love move them a couple feet from the house! maybe just keep the center one and put something a llittle shorter at the corners of that triangular facade. that will draw some attention upwards.

The house body and roof color are too close in value. (Value is what the shade would be if you looked at this in a black and white photo) Thats one thing that makes it look flat. you could up the contrast in the value and that would differentiate the roof from walls more. Also the roof hue (color) looks cool white or gray. The white walls look a touch warmer. you could up the contrast in hue or tone and that would help too. But i would focus on the value difference above all.

There's a trade off between clean lines and "boring". Stop over thinking it. It's a great house. Just leave it as is.

You should paint the garage door the same colour as the front door maybe add a small tress and more flowers
