Bathrooms Building a Home Kitchens

Half bath that is next to the kitchen/dining?

Hi y'all!
We are going to remodel our house. We have two options, and wonder if it is ok to have a bathroom right next to the kitchen/dining area given that its door is open into a mudroom (option 1)?
Option 2 seems like a better choice, but it comes with a high cost for adding a new plumbing system and a new half bath.
Pls share your thoughts!

Keep the existing bathroom, it is ok since there is a mudroom in between

A new half bath with a door open into the foyer gives more easy access and privacy

I wouldn't do the remodel unless it included moving the bathroom door to out of the kitchen/dining area. Move it to the entry and you'll get some of those remodeling dollars back.
