It looks like you don't have a choice about where to put the TV since there are windows on the rest of the wall surfaces. It looks like the builder or previous owner thought about this already, so you have plenty of wall area for a large TV there.

Some option for layout . Make FP with TV as focal point and place furniture facing it.

Did you bring the sofas in and try moving them around?

I’m in the process of buying new ones, but I want to make sure what configuration will work best… the tv will be in the corner as well…
I do see a lot of the signs where they moved the TV to another wall, away from the corner, but I cannot do that due to my windows

At least the fireplace opening is low and minimal, making it more feasible for TV to look ok if placed above.

Consider dividing room into two areas:

1. TV above fireplace and create a cozy sitting area. Find an on line room planner, add in the room‘s structural components and test: sectional, couch/chairs, two couches. Decide what works best AND meets your family’s needs.

Don’t but anything until you have a definite plan layout wise. Also start to narrow down the look you want and save ideas. This is an easier way to achieve a coordinated look.

2. At other end, think how it would be best used/enjoyed. Games, conversation, reading, etc. Use this side’s dimensions when testing different ideas.

Is there another eating area, or are you going to want to allow space for a table at the kitchen end? For sure, long rooms are often best subdivided to some degree.

Layout for TV over the fireplace

A floorplan ( drawn, measurement, including part of the kitchen) and more about how you use the room will be helpful. Your photos are somewhat helpful but don’t give the option of actual feet & inches for a piece furniture, walking space through room or to doorways.

I’ve also posted before that it’s good for OP ‘s to think about how they like to use end tables, lamps, putting feet up, do you need or prefer any high- backed seating or need to keep sightlines open as you view the room from kitchen. With your windows, is there a particular set ( a window wall) that offers best views or natural light at a favorite time of day. other things that need to be factored in regarding size and types of seating. The placement of boxes or “ placeholder furniture”. ( things like lightweight tables and chairs you might already have & can move around easily ) is helpful to kind of simulate and visualize different arrangements. So hopefully do a lot of that before ordering “ sofas”.

I agree that measurements would help people give advice. I love the room. How about thinking of the fireplace as one side of a square and then creating the adjacent sides of imaginary square with a sofa at right angle to the fireplace on the neighbor side and two swivel chairs on the opposite side? Swivel so you can turn around and enjoy the view.

Put a small round table and two chairs where the Christmas tree is, and a larger round table (round for circulation because of doors) near the kitchen. Rugs to define the imaginary square and the eating space nearer the kitchen.

Putting a rug in front of the fireplace with one edge parallel to it violates our unwritten rule that square rugs have to be parallel to walls, but it will work. If you hate that, a round rug might work instead.
