Where I live (in a HCOLA), pricing would completely depend on who you are contacting for quotes. If you are quoted by established, licensed, larger firms with an advertising budget, who hire salespeople and have a person to answer the phones, you're going to get a really high quote.

For something like what you want, I would look for "a guy" who does that sort of thing. Perhaps by searching on Nextdoor. For example, my handyman is an accomplished woodworker, and could do this type of work. If he needs help, he has someone he can bring. I know and trust his work, so that's who I'd call. He is so busy he has zero need for advertising beyond satisfied, long-time customers who post about him and recommend him on our Nextdoor. He has no Yelp presence. So to me, the question is who are you contacting for quotes?
