WOW, BeverlyFLADeziner, thanks! that was a lot of work you did for me! My heart stopped at your first post but that looks like it's only furniture rental. Never thought to look at target! That's the Idris chair I love ! Better than the price I'd seen but looking to stay around $400 or less. I'm looking for that same style in all wood. It's for daily kitchen use and I'm afraid even with performance fabric the light color will wear quickly. The ATHOME is definitely a budget friendly option. Thanks again!

@BeverlyFLADeziner , Thank you so much! These are awesome! I've been searching and searching and can't believe I had not seen the Wayfair billi-back chair. By any chance do you have a good source for the same chair in all wood or with a removable cushion?

The faux leather should hold up pretty well.

And if you get one with a simple cushion, even if it gets ruined, it'll be easy to recover yourself. If future DIY recovering is being considered, it is good to avoid seats like the Idris with the welting at the base (unless you are crafty). The welting can add hours to a 10 minute recover, even if you know how.

Thanks everyone. We've decided to go a bit different direction and go for the WEst Elm Wingate chair . A more casual look and more practical for the kitchen. My Idris will have to wait for the next house. :-)

I bet the Wayfair one is plenty sturdy. And I prefer the gentle sculpting on the seat to that of the WE chair. If you are getting black (and don't need the oak wood grain), then the Jerelean should hold up better as it is solid wood (the WE chair has engineered and veneered seat and back). Not that you were planning to abuse the chairs enough to find out!

I like both chairs but had originally fallen in love with the Doris chair and your post helps confirm it ! I’ll think I’ll go with it

I assume the table can be expanded as the legs don't make the table usable by more than four people when the table is contracted.

yes the table does have multiple leaves but we are a family 6 (four teens) and actually sit at the table comfortably each night for dinner which I love! So happy to have a round table again!
