Mood boards are not designs. Designs start with a measured diagram, and a space plan that takes into account the size of everything.

@DeWayne Ok call it a mood board. I don't care what it's called... This is the only means I have of looking at everything together before I pull the trigger on any of this stuff.

Kitchen is fine. For the living room you’re not way off…but it’s not fabulous either. It doesn’t look fresh. The colors are mostly mid tone and in my eye this reads kind of blah. Make sure to accessorize with a wider variety of greens and a little pop of a bright, and some white and black for contrast and interest. I hope you’re not going to use both the green and off white accent chairs- pick two of one of those.

@Susan L Thank you. I've gone back and forth on that exact thing, so it's good to hear that either two green chairs or two off white would be better. And I will definitely look at adding some other tones to the mix.

Note the edit below: I'm not a pro, but here's what I see: I like how you tied the pendants in the kitchen and the drum chandelier in the breakfast room, more interesting to me than the same-ol' alternative. I think your rug, leather sofa and green chairs read country-cozy, dogs in the house, which is my happy place. Wall colors will be something that you will have to decide on once your counters, cabinetry and floors are in place as your lighting will determine your paint selection - you can have a list of candidates, but I had to throw my list out and start over. Your cold white fireplace surround feels out of place to me. You might want to investigate having your [fireplace] TELEVISION at eye level when sitting down rather than standing up.

While considering wall color, try OC-47 Ashwood.

Ashwood is more of a gray, but the slight green undertone may work better with your scheme than the two colors you posted.

Here's another view of the living room with some different color choices, taking into consideration the advice received here. Not sure if I should lose the green drapery panels and use the cream ones instead.... So I put up both to compare.

i like the lighter blinds -- gets you out of the British Empire feeling while still being a pleasant transitional blend. Nice!

I like the lighter blinds too, and the green chairs with a more modern shape. As far as the curtains - if you aren't getting custom, you can try them out and return if needed.

I like chandelier over the pendant I would not do simply white its very yellow I have white cabinets and against them it looked wrong I had to repaint

My suggestion is to paint a sample on one of those sample sheets from the hardware store and move it around in your space

Digital renderings of the paint are never what they seem

I like the chandelier more than the pendant it complements the style better

I also think the green chairs and the green curtains are a bit matchy matchy, and like a lighter color for the chairs. Also the lighter color shades on the windows is better. But I love love love the greens - you will easily find tons of accessories when you go to buy the little things, and it looks so beautiful with wood tones and a wide range of browns.

I like your first layout better, but I would use two of the original green chairs. I think they look better with the couch. I like your rug and blinds better in that layout also, but I would go with cream curtains.

I do like your pictures better in you second layout. I think they would pull in the green from chairs, brown from the blinds and couch, and cream from the wall and curtains.

I love the colors you have chosen, and you house will be lovely and timeless.

Is the space alrady built ? Wall color always if possible the last choice to make . I see nothing wrong with any of the choices but without seeing the sapce , the flooors and the kitchen installed this IMO is all guess work. Natural colors are always a good choice if that goes with your style

@Patricia Colwell It is a new build, so not finished just yet. I agree that this is mostly guesswork because of that. It's why I am so stressed. I cannot see any of this until I plop it in the space together and I'm just hoping it all works and looks like it all relates.

@HU-117805425 yes, we put the plan on the Sketch-Up program to see how the furniture would fit. We also have the blueprints which we have measured with a 1/4” scale draftsman’s ruler as indicated on the plan. We measured our existing furniture and scaled it down accordingly to the plan.

Do you have the green chairs? Or a swatch? I would use that green to choose a rug and curtains, and then choose the wall color. Go a bit light on the wall color, might be easier to live with if it’s not quite right. The house will be painted before you move in, right?

Since it’s a new build, don’t buy a rug until everything is in the actual room. I love the furniture choices but the rugs are not enhancing them. You can absolutely wait to buy a living room rug for when you’re in the space.

I like the more traditional chairs because they look more comfortable. Love the green.

I know this rug is a little more modern looking, but it might blend all your colors together in your last design.

@Shadywillowfarm I’ve been collecting swatches over the past few months. I’ve got a box full of them, and more on the way. Ha! I’d be even more stressed trying to coordinate all these fabrics without them.

@RedRyder thank you. I will do that. I had thought it would be such a pain to get everything moved in and then have to remove it all just to put down rugs…. but I can see how that would be the smartest way to go.

I would suggest once the spaces are mostly completed to take a tape measure measure each space use grap paper to do it to scale show every window doorway and where those lead. Every measurement clearly marked post it here in jpeg format and in a comment DO NOT start another post of this home all things relating are dealt with here. You can take that drawing do the furniture pieces in the same scale and test them out so that you get afeel for walkways and just overll fit. I will say what works on paper sometimes does not in real life . So that is where the drawing posted here can help.

If you have furniture protectors on everything (and that’s essential) it’s easier to move the furniture when you eventually are ready to choose a rug. AND, after you get everything set up, you can put painter’s tape on the floor around your seating area to know the right size to buy.
