If you don't know how to wire it, hire an electrician. I think modern code requires grounding in all outlets.

Youd need to figure out which one of those wires is the feed.

Youd pigtail off that.

Get a gfi/afci combo, a standard 20a recep, duplex one side decora other side raised metal cover.

Feed goes to the line side of the GFI, the other outlet is fed off the load.

Or swap the breaker feeding to a gfi/afci breaker.

That metal box is a four square and cannot be mouted in the wall. You need to swap to a cut in box.

If any of this sounds past your ability or you dont understand, call an electrician and do bot attempt.

To avoid having to replace the existing electrical box, it appears you can attach this Southwire G1939-UPC 4 in. Steel Metallic, Square Box Cover, 2 Duplex, 1/2 in. Raised to the existing electrical box. (You really want the similar G1939-SS but it doesn't appear you can buy just one.)

Wire one receptacle to the black and white wires and a ground wire to a screw on the electrical box. Wire the second receptacle to the first using short lengths of wire.

(Dave, above, says you need a GFI/AFCI combo. Maybe because this is in a garage. Dunno.)

You want a GFI as there is no ground present. Also, because it appears to be a basement. AFCI is code in most locations now.
